JWs are the happiest people on earth
just this week after being separated a little over two months....and funny cause i just got a pm from a newbie about what it is like to leave all...including your wife or husband....anyway, i spent the day with my wife and we talked about it...it is so sad....even though we are very different in natures...i again concluded there is enough in common to be happy and grow old and avoid the very high costs to both of a divorce....except we just cant figure out how to have totally separate friends and social lives....that is kinda big and may still be the deal breaker....soooooo frustrating and infuriating..........oompa.
here was my reply to the newbie pm:.
leaving was terribly hard as my wife is a wonderful and attractive person...my 22 year old son is also a good dub...and my parents are not real old yet and he is a hardcore elder.
When we travel, it's just her and me, with the occasional trip to the KH for her.
OTWO, I plan to resort to this diplomatic compromise while we will be on holiday in Martinique next summer, just in order not to let my wife feel lonely there when going to the KH. French protestant king-to-be Henri IV had to become a catholic before being allowed to enter Paris and be able to acceed to the throne. He couldn't care less about this religious fuss (was more interested in chicks, he is the one who said that until he was 40 he thought it was a bone), declared that Paris was worth a mass (Paris vaut bien une messe) and became a catholic. Bon roi Henri we call him .
my frequent walks these last few years about the neighborhood so familiar to me would ordinarily be construed a pleasant enough non-event.
a little mild exercise - taken in small doses to keep the joints operating properly - and a keen eye peeled for the ever-changing face of nature have rendered the daily promenade a suitable diversion.
until recently.
CoCo,
I 've seen a couple of times that you are fluent in French, have you read Proust ? sounds sometimes like he influenced your writing. Anyway you are a real literature man, IMO.

Oompa,
I've quitted JWs, my wife is still in and we are still together, not even starting to envisage separation, simply because we both think that no religion is worth breaking a family, unless of course one of the partners turns so fanatical that it would make common life unbearable. I don't know all the ins and outs of your situation but is it really so in your houshold ? just saying that, under near normal even though less than ideal conditions, staying with your spouse is possible, and even to be wished (you both said YES once, even in the face of potential adversity), if only to show the WTSers that you are the one, not them, controlling your family life.
Wish her a Happy new year and give her back her freedom, getting yours in the process.

"paul also helps us to understand that those with an earthly hope do not partake of the memorial emblems.
A bit later in the year, they trot out another perennial favorite: the "please don't misbehave at the district convention,"
and another bit later, from september onward (just on time to deduct donations from taxable income of the year), usual call for material support of the worldwide work, with emphasis on e-donating loving provision.
i am still a member of the jw's organization.
i have been puzzled over some of the teachings for many years but as i seemed to be the only one querying things among my local jw's i felt as if i was going crazy.
i was very relieved to find this site, a few months ago, full of evidence to back up my findings, and so much more.. i am so grateful to you all.. i do not want to leave the organization until i have planted some seeds in my family to open their eyes.

Welcome, Undertheradar,
As for your first quote, we certainly are a few on here to know the feeling,
and as for the second one, hope that your relatives are less prone to mental self censorship as so many JWs are when it comes to thinking by themselves. Still astounds me when I talk to some of my otherwise quite intelligent relatives. As if half of their brain was used for academic achievements and the other half was dedicated to being stuffed by the WTS.
i had minor surgery this past week.
did have general anesthesia.
graphic, memorable dreams.. i want to eat all of the time, especially if it is sweet.. wake up not groggy.
HL, most sincere wishes of fast recovery, and a happy new year to you. My daughter, to whom you joyfully wished happy birthday for her 16th anniversary, 2 years ago, joins with me.
i was in the produce section of a local market, when i happened to overhear the following comment: "we celebrate christ's birth every day of the year, not just on christmas!
" i turned and knew the nature of the source of the comment immediately, judging by the polyester pantsuit and delusional "deer in headlights" look on her face.
her companion replied, "but i like celebrating christmas and don't see anything wrong with it.
You people are too cheap to celebrate anything, except the financial success of the cult that enslaves your mind."
The conversation starts like a standard witnessing chat, the JW girl speaks to that person on an informal mode and the latter says that she sees nothing wrong in celebrating Xmas, as if she were an average wordly person. Now, the tone changes altogether in the second part of the conversation, the witnessed person reveals herself very sharp and insightful. It is obvious that she is very well acquainted with the JW world and well advanced in awareness about the WTS's tricks, just like an apostate would do. Somehow, the two parts of the conversation don't match with each other.
y a tu quelqu'un qui vient du quebec ou qui parle francais icitte ?

is there anybody here who is from quebec or speak french?.
Maudzi français over here; Lived in Montreal for a while, used to go snow shoeing, cross country skying and canoeing at lac des chats, St Sauveur des Monts. I still have a very good friend there.
